Monster Mary's Top Ten Cheesy Horror Movies

What is it about Cheesy movies that us Horror fans love?  Admit it, you all love sitting down to watch a good cheesy B-Movie.  I am not talking about films that are so bad they are good, Oh no....I am talking about honest to goodness cheese-tastic movies.  Most of the films are from the 80s, a decade that produced some of the best Horror movies ever made, also produced some of the worst and cheesiest movies ever to grace our TV screens.   The fashion, the acting, the terrible FX, and bad script-writing all contributed to making  these films so wonderfully bad.  Sometimes even the concept was so cheesy to begin with, there was no where to go but B-Movie trashy goodness.  Feast your eyes on a list that I dare you to watch...hehe   So, pour yourself a frosty cold one, pop some good salty popcorn, and invite some friends over to go all along with this cheesy-fun list of movies....

10-  Terror Vision (1986)
A family installs a brand new satellite in their backyard and gets a lot more than just MTV on it.  A huge blob of an Alien shows up and tries to devour everything in sight.  It is up to a young boy and a Heavy Metal Rocker to save everyone from the Alien invasion, I can only assume it won't end well.

9- C.H.U.D. 1 and 2
C.H.U.D. stands for Cannibalistic. Humanoid, Underground, Dweller    A photographer starts taking pictures of the homeless, especially the ones called "Undergrounders".  The local homeless people are going missing and the monsters that dwell in the sewers are probably to blame.

8- Video Dead (1987)
Another movie with monsters coming out of the TV...  A television is mysteriously delivered to a man that will only play one channel.  The only show it will allow is about Zombies.  Even after the TV is unplugged, it still plays the same Zombie movie.  Late that night, Zombies start coming out of the TV and attacking everyone in the house.

7- Woodchipper Massacre (1988)
After accidentally killing their Aunt, the three kids she was baby sitting, decide to chop her up and dispose of her with the Woodchipper.  Unfortunately her son shows up looking for her and they have  to figure out a way to get rid of him too.

6- Chopping Mall (1986)
Park Plaza Mall installs a state of the art security system that uses three high tech robots to catch criminals.  Four young couples decide to stay in the mall after hours and have a party, but a lightening storm turns the security robots into "Killbots" that attack the everyone still in the mall.

5- Night of the Comet (1984)
A comet passes over the earth and turns everyone into red dust.  Only a few people survive because they were in steel rooms  and decide to go raid the local mall.  Also there are atomic Zombies that attack and kill the survivors.

4- House (1986)
An author moves into a possessed House after his aunt hangs herself.  He is depressed and trying to finish his latest book, while searching for his lost son.  He starts to be haunted by Demons and has strange visions as the house comes to life.

3- Critters (1986)
Small furry little Aliens with large teeth land on Earth and cause all sorts of problems.  Two Alien bounty hunters show up to save Earth and capture all the troublesome critters that are trying to eat everything in sight.  Critters also features Dee Wallace and Billy Zane in the first movie.

2- Troll 2 (1990)
A Family wants to spend the summer at a farm, but ends up being attacked by Goblins that want to turn them into plants so they can eat them.  Widely thought of as the worst movie ever made, Troll 2 has some charms going for it.   Supposedly the script was written by someone that did not speak any English and the crew didn't speak English either.  So for the most part the cast couldn't communicate with any of the crew, resulting in a very strange and cheesy movie.

1- Killer Klowns From Outer Space (1988)
Evil Alien Clowns invade Earth in their circus tent shaped space ship.  They are looking for a new food source and humans are looking pretty tasty.   If you don't have a fear of clowns already, this film might start a full blown clown phobia.

Yes, I left off so many good cheesy movies, too many in fact.   I really could make a much larger list, but I like to stick to a top ten.  If you are still wanting more cheese, check out Basket Case, Street Trash, Toxic Avenger, Chillerama, Ghoulies, Zombie Lake, Dead Alive, Bad Taste, The Baby, Night of the Creeps, and  Rock and Roll Nightmare just to name a few.
